I am a political economist and historian of capitalism. My research examines how power is organised within firms and economic institutions. Drawing on the republican tradition in Western political thought, I engage in debates over property, competition, and economic organisation to address questions of corporate governance, business ethics, and the legitimacy of authority. My work examines how ownership and authority shape the possibilities for freedom and popular power.
